Re: Urgent Notification of State Retaliation and Obstruction of Whistleblower Activities
Dear Judge Failla:
Pursuant to our established channels of communication regarding institutional oversight and transnational compliance with human rights and anti-corruption frameworks, I am formally submitting this urgent update to your Chambers.
This transmission serves to officially document severe state-level retaliation and systematic investigations directed against me, which are directly impeding my protected activities as a whistleblower and journalist in Mexico. The actions currently executed by local authorities, under the direct command of the Secretary of Public Security of Yucatán, Luis Felipe Saidén Ojeda, and facilitated by the omissions of high-ranking judicial actors, constitute a deliberate attempt to criminalize my reporting and silence my efforts to expose institutional irregularities.
This state-sponsored intimidation not only violates press freedom but creates a severe chilling effect that threatens the integrity of ongoing investigations, fact-finding missions, and whistleblower protections internationally. Given the transnational interest in safeguarding judicial integrity and the existing scrutiny by U.S. federal agencies over these regional actors, this record is provided for your continuous awareness of the situation.
To ensure absolute transparency and to establish an immutable public record, this exact notification is being delivered simultaneously to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), the Supreme Court of Justice of Mexico (SCJN), the Ministry of Public Security of Yucatán (SSP), and the Second District Court of Yucatán.
We will continue to document and submit updates to these respective bodies to guarantee strict domestic and international vigilance over these proceedings and to hold the responsible actors accountable.
Respectfully submitted,
